Camping in Spokane

We got to Spokane on Friday and the following Thursday we wanted to get away from all the unpacking so we went camping at a state park a 30-minute drive from where we lived. When we got to our spot this is what we saw...gravel, and lots of it.

We went to the next campsite over because it had a place that was more dirt than gravel to set our tent on - Ryan didn't have a pad to sleep on and he wasn't too thrilled about sleeping on rocks.

I brought the blanket I used a month earlier to put David on the ground, but it didn't work as well this time because he was a whole lot bigger and when he went off it dirt went everywhere.

After being pretty discouraged about no grass we got our things together to go on a hike - there were miles and miles of trails in the park. David was just big/strong enough to sit in the backpack, which made things a lot easier.

The Spokane River was really pretty - the water was so clear you could see to the bottom and the rock formations were impressive. The hikes made up for the no grass so overall the trip was successful.
