Finally, a New Post

David should be waking up any time now, but I will try to be quick and get at least something posted. A couple weeks ago David and I were able to go to Utah for Everett and Jessica's graduations. I drove to Jake's and then we went the rest of the way together. I was so glad for that - I don't know if I could have gone 11 hours in a car with just me and David. We had a really nice time staying at Everett's and visiting with all the family. David loved having so many people to play with him! He also loved the stairs at both uncles' homes. I am so glad I don't have stairs. (And, as a side note, the next place we live is going to have some way to secure the kitchen cupboards. I just finished putting all my pans in the coat closet-turned-pantry because I was getting a little tired of getting them from the living room.) Here is David helping Grandma vacuum - get out a vacuum and he comes running.

We were able to celebrate Jake's birthday while we were there. Mom made sure everyone got in a festive mood.

David had a fun time pulling these things out of this box - just enough so there was room for him to climb in and continue emptying.

This is David's new place to be. He puts his fingers in the window track and stands on the baseboard heating. He loves to look out the window (plus I think he likes the idea of being able to start climbing on things). However, it isn't the safest place to be, especially when he brings a toy up with him, starts playing with it, and forgets to hold on, so I put a bucket and chair in front of it to deter him. Good thing I have so many food buckets, though they only deter him if they have twenty pounds of wheat, etc. in them and are too heavy for him to push over and move out of his way.
We went to the park the other day and had a nice time being outside even though it was pretty chilly and we wore our hats. My mother-in-law found David's hat at an estate sale last year and I am determined to learn how to knit so I can make them myself - he has pretty much grown out of this one.
