Pre-Summer Break

Technically, our real summer break is in August/September, but the week-and-a-half break in June has been designated as the break during which Ryan doesn't go back to Oregon to work. This year our first stop was in Missoula to see Jake. He lives in a townhouse type place and David remembered which door was Jake's.


Then down to Utah to visit Everett, Jennifer and Jessica. Everett & Jennifer had their baby, Delmer, the day before we got there and we were lucky enough to still be in town when they got home from the hospital so David could see the baby. He was pretty excited about that.


He was also all lovey-dovey with Jessica's big dog that she let him hang onto all day.


After Utah we headed to Oregon where Ryan did manage to squeeze in some work. He really likes working and would probably have gone crazy with not enough to do had we just come back to Spokane, so I guess that is alright ;) David had a great time playing with his grandparents and Uncle Ian.

The day after we got back to Spokane was Ryan's mini-triathlon. He shaved four minutes off last year's time, which is good considering we had been on vacation for 10 days before that and he didn't have much opportunity to train as much as he wanted to.


Monday evening Ryan kicked me out of the house for an hour (I went to the library to work on some knitting) so he and David could make me a birthday surprise. David had lots of fun helping to make cupcakes.


Then, today was finally warm enough to go swimming. David has been anticipating this for what seems like months. Hopefully, we will have some good weather in the next month so we can get a lot of use out of it.
